Tout le monde connaît la Vieille Mésange. Chacun a entendu une histoire à son sujet. Sorcière, croque-mitaine, légende ou simple invention destinée à effrayer les enfants, nul ne semble réellement savoir qui elle est. Pourtant, derrière les contes, les rumeurs et les superstitions se cache une vérité plus inquiétante. Lorsque Nuri, jeune aventurier bavard et rêveur, décide de partir à la recherche de cette figure légendaire, Marjine, sa fidèle compagne muette au tempérament bien plus sage, accepte de l'accompagner. Au fil de leur voyage, les deux compagnons croiseront des personnages singuliers, des récits oubliés et des fragments d'histoires qui les rapprocheront peu à peu de celle dont le nom se murmure à voix basse.
